NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.
Shares of Gland Pharma(up 1.86 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 1.33 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.86 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.69 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.62 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Ipca Laboratories(down 2.22 per cent), Laurus(down 1.4 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.3 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.05 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(down 0.62 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.3 per cent down at 12019.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 17.9 points at 17826.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 18.82 points at 60672.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, PNB and Brightcom Group were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products Ltd., Majesco L(PP), PG Electroplast, MPS Ltd and Nucleus Soft hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while SVP Global, California Soft, Shree Ram Proteins, Tata Tele and Pokarna Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
